One of the main goals of the U.S. Turf Company is to inform and educate the general public on the “truth” about synthetic turf products. One of the best ways of doing this is to let you know what we know. The following video will give you all the information on the design and development of synthetic turf you could ever want. We proudly provide that for you here…

On the creation of the GEN 5 Synthetic Turf System
Synthetic surfaces are going to be a constant part of our athletic future. Finances are directing the need for prolonged use of all kinds of fields including indoor facilities for competition and year round practice, which is now a necessity for almost every high school, college and professional sport. What we have accomplished with the design of the GEN 5 system addresses several of the shortcomings of standard rubber infilled systems while at the same time, improving things from a performance standpoint.
Our commitment to question everything during our design process allowed us to create freely without having to follow a preset design and I love what our research has developed. This system design provides a much faster, firmer upper level surface with the overall system cushion provided by the unique Sports Field EarthPad underneath. This combination results in a reduction of soft tissue (muscle) injuries and helps reduce the incident of ligament and tendon damage.
Our subsequent testing has also reveled the reduction of ground caused concussion injuries due to the significant changes in our fiber density and the presence of the EarthPad. Our design engineering features a “Plant and Go” monofilament fiber structure reducing the incident of knee and ankle injuries. This system is about quality materials and performance engineering. My specific role was to ensure the safety of the development process and to direct the testing modalities to reflect an accurate comparison to what the athletes would see while on the surface. We could continue the theoretical analysis and testing results for days but here is my evaluation of the GEN 5 System. It has passed the most difficult testing procedures we could apply and has done so impressively. Whatever this system will face while in the ground is nothing compared to what we just put this turf through. I have three kids playing all types of sports right now and I wish this would have been available three years ago for my oldest two boys to experience.
